DailyFX Webinar Schedule: Week of May 19, 2013

While US equities continue to press their luck with record highs, we are seeing further and further divergence to the standard expectations on risk trends through the FX market. This creates considerable trading opportunities. Currently most traders fall into the camp of either genuine embrace of the short-term bullishness sweeping the globe, or sincere skepticism regarding a further, steady advance in capital markets. We’ll be able to observe where current sentiment lies in the regard over the coming week, as the event risk over the coming week is mostly second tier; there is nothing major like Nonfarm Payrolls to represent a potential fundamental-inspired turn in risk appetite.

This will ‘allow’ the market to focus on the true themes: risk trends and stimulus. Top event risk for the week is the Bank of Japan Rate Decision. There is no set time for BoJ policy decisions, but there is a general range between 02:00 to 04:00 GMT. Given the focus on the Yen’s meteoric collapse and general interest in stimulus – this is an event where strategy is good to have prior to the release. Currency Strategist Ilya Spivak will be covering strategy ahead of the BoJ Rate Decision in this week’s featured DailyFX Plus webinar.
