China’s non-manufacturing business activity expanded at a slower rate in October, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.

An index reading above 50 signals expansion in business activity, while a score below signals contraction.

Expectations on business activity decreased as the corresponding index dropped to 59.9 in October from 60.9.

The index measuring employment levels slid to 48.9 from 49.5.

Meanwhile, the index measuring input prices increased to 52 from 49.8 and the ‘price charged’ index climbed to 48.8 in October from 47.3 in September.

The new orders index rose to 51 from 49.5 in September.
