The New Zealand dollar weakened against most major currencies in the Asian session on Tuesday.
The NZ dollar fell to 0.7192 against the U.S. dollar for the first time since March 2011, from yesterday’s closing value of 0.7295.
Against the yen and the euro, the kiwi dropped to more than a 3-month low of 84.30 and more than a 1-month low of 1.5748 from yesterday’s closing quotes of 85.74 and 1.5524, respectively.
If the kiwi extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 0.70 against the greenback, 83.00 against the yen and 1.61 against the euro.
