Malaysia’s producer prices declined notably in February, figures from the Department of Statistics showed Tuesday.
The producer price index fell 5.4 percent year-over-year in February, while rose 0.4 percent from the previous month.
Producer prices for local production plunged 7.8 percent annually in February. Prices in the mining sector tumbled by 36.5 percent and manufacturing prices went down by 3.2 percent.
Import prices dropped 0.4 percent in February from the previous year and edged up 0.1 percent from the prior month.
