Malta’s producer price index continued to decline annually in March, but the growth of decline eased from the previous month, figures from the National Statistical Office showed Tuesday.
The producer price index fell 1.66 percent year-on-year in March, following a 2.99 percent decrease in February. In January, price fell 2.01 percent.
Prices of intermediate goods fell by 4.19 percent and that of durable consumer goods by 0.58 percent. Meanwhile, prices of energy remained flat in March.
Producer prices for the domestic market increased by 0.77 percent annually in March, while non-domestic prices declined by 3.43 percent.
On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 2.10 percent in March, in reverse to a 1.67 percent decline in the previous month. Both domestic and non-domestic prices also increased in March as compared to February.
