The U.S. consumer confidence index for April is to be released at 10:00 am ET Tuesday. Prior to the data, the greenback showed mixed trading against other major currencies. While the greenback climbed against the franc and the euro, it held steady against the yen. Against the pound, the greenback fell back.
The greenback was worth 1.3823 against the euro, 0.8831 against the franc, 1.6834 against the pound and 102.67 against the yen as of 9:55 am ET.
