An index measuring consumer confidence in New Zealand was down 4.4 percent on month in May, the latest survey from ANZ Bank revealed on Friday – coming in with a score of 127.6.
Now at a six-month low, the May reading follows the 1.1 percent increase in April to 133.5.
A score above 100 suggests that optimists outnumber pessimists.
Among the individual components of the survey, the index for near-term economic outlook was down – as was longer-term outlook and personal financial positions.
